For best results, use Kolner Aqua Size or Permacoll Size as the gilding adhesive. When working with imitation metal leaf, it is recommended to wear Gilder’s Gloves to prevent moisture from your fingers from coming into contact with the metal leaves.
To protect imitation gold leaves from oxidation, apply varnish using Kolner Leaf Protect. After gilding, use a Gilder’s Mop to brush off any excess leaves for a smooth, solid finish.
