Missione water-based gilding size is perfect for indoor gilding with imitation gold leafs, silver, copper, and more. This versatile adhesive, based on acetate-vinyl co-polymers in aqueous dispersion, is suitable for bonding sheet metals. Thanks to its compatibility with medium-porosity materials, it’s recommended for decorating a variety of indoor surfaces and supports, including wood, plaster, stucco, and paper.
- Excellent 15-minute drying time. You can start applying the gold leaf only after 15 minutes.
- No gilder’s clay is needed before applying this gilding size.
- Apply a coat of shellac to the gesso before applying the gold size; the shellac isolates the gesso from the size.
- After the shellac has dried—which takes only a few minutes—apply a generous coat of this gilding size.
- Size gilding can not be burnished at all.
