Copper leaf (Patent) inspires creativity and innovation for professional gilders. It enhances furniture, walls, ceilings, and decorative objects. Its applicability extends to various materials, including wood, metal, gib-board, stone, glass, ceramic, concrete, paper, plastic, and fabric, allowing for various artistic possibilities.
Patent (Transfer) leaf
The individual copper leafs, pressed onto a tissue paper, make handling and application a breeze. One uses patent copper, also known as tempest copper, which is designed for easy use. The leaves can be cut into desired shapes/forms with scissors. They are then placed onto the prepared surface and carefully rubbed with either Gilder’s Gloves. The tissue paper can be removed as the copper leaf adheres to the surface, making the process straightforward and manageable.

- Coverage: x51 leafs per sqm, exclude waste and overlap.
- Thickness: Approx 1 micron.
- When using imitation metal leaf, it is best to wear Gilder’s Wool Gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints on the metal leafs, as they will show up later after you apply the sealer.
- Recommended gilding adhesive: Kölner Aqua Size or Kölner Permacoll Size
- The recommended copper sealer is Kölner Leaf Protect Varnish.
