Patent (Transfer) leaf
The individual copper leafs, pressed onto a tissue paper, make handling and application a breeze. One uses patent copper, also known as tempest copper, which is designed for easy use. The leaves can be cut into desired shapes/forms with scissors. They are then placed onto the prepared surface and carefully rubbed with either Gilder’s Gloves. The tissue paper can be removed as the copper leaf adheres to the surface, making the process straightforward and manageable.

- When using imitation metal leaf, it is best to wear Gilder’s Wool Gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints on the metal leafs, as they will show up later after you apply the sealer.
- Recommended gilding adhesive: Kölner Permacoll Size
- The recommended copper sealer is Kolner Leaf Protect Varnish.
