The Water Size is a mixture of water and alcohol, which can only be used in the water gilding technique. Apply the water size by brush, then immediately place the gold leaf on the bole layer.
The water size will reactivate the binder in the bole layer and, therefore, achieve adhesion for the gold leaf.
