The Kölner gilder’s cushion is made of fine leather and is highly cushioned. This cushion is designed for handling loose metal leaf. To use it, the metal leaf is carefully extracted from the booklet with a gilder’s knife and placed onto the cushion. Afterwards, the metal leaf can be cut into the desired dimensions.
